TAMBUFEST PHOTOS

In the images below, you will see snapshots of Tambufest over the years. We have been fortunate to be able to feature a number of cultural groups, including Kingston Drummers, Lynval’s African Descendants, the Manchioneal Cultural Group, the Islington Dinki Mini Group, the Charles Town Maroons, Kaya Jonkonnu Group, and of course, the St. Thomas Kumina Collective. We have also had the honor of hosting a number of speakers for our “reasonings,” including Dr. Devon Taylor (Director of the Jamaica Birthright Beach Movement), Miss Cynthia Miller (who led the fight to keep Winnifred Beach from being privatized), Marcus Goffe (Attorney-at-Law), and Dr. Elon Thompson (Urologist). Our emcees have been Aisha Prendergast and Colleen Douglas, libations have been poured by Robert and Althea Vassell and Gloria “Mama G” Simms, and our Moderator has been Carol Lawes.
